Michael Rouse, PhD
As the Associate Director of Laboratory Science and Operations for Surgical Critical Care Initiative (SC2i) and the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center (WRNMMC), I lead and manage interdisciplinary and cross-functional teams across a broad range of scientific areas to promote product development and maximize clinical outcomes requiring complex medical decision making.
My laboratory is GCLP, CAP-Biorepository, and CLIP accredited. We routinely collaborate and use multi-omics (proteins, transcripts, genomics) approaches to manage and facilitate the development of biomarker-driven Clinical Decision Support Tools (CDSTs), such as advanced analytics, machine learning, and precision medicine diagnostics.
I am primarily focused on identifying biomarkers and developing new assays/technologies to better understand the translational mechanisms and improve clinical outcomes of combat-related injuries and conditions.
