My main areas of interest include neuroscience and neuroimmunloogy. My research areas include the study of N-acetylaspartate and N-acetylaspartylglutamate, and the genetic disorder Canavan disease. Our laboratory has also investigated the kynurenine pathway to quinolinic acid synthesis in immune cells. We have also investigated the use of brief isoflurane administration for the treatment of organophosphate poisoning.
