It is with sadness we announce the passing of the Honorable Gail Wilensky, Ph.D., HJF Council of Directors (CoD) Chair.
Dr. Wilensky served HJF as a member on the CoD Executive and Audit Committees since January 2022 and was Board Chair since July 2022. Dr. Wilensky was considered one of the nation’s most influential health policy experts and helped guide HJF with her in-depth health care policy expertise.
“We have been honored to have Dr. Wilensky’s invaluable leadership and support over these years on our Council,” said Joseph Caravalho, Jr., HJF President and CEO. “She contributed so much to HJF through her insightful guidance and counsel. On a personal note, she helped me become a better leader of this incredible organization. She was a true legend in public health policy, giving freely of her time and energy to help HJF advance Military Medicine. She will be sorely missed by all within HJF.”
