Currently serving as the Vice President of Strategic Initiatives, Dr. Fewell oversees HJF’s business development efforts which includes leading the teams supporting HJF’s corporate and investigator-initiated proposal submissions for research grants, contracts, and cooperative agreements.
Throughout her more than 15 years with HJF, Dr. Fewell has spearheaded the development of tools and resources to assist principal investigators with developing competitive research proposals. This includes development of HJF’s ESP team, who provide technical editing, statistical advising and protocol support for HJF submitted proposals.
Prior to joining HJF in 2009, Dr. Fewell held a faculty position as Research Assistant Professor at the University of Pittsburgh. Her research focused on the role of molecular chaperones and the identification of small molecule chaperone modulators as potential therapeutic targets for cancer.
Dr. Fewell received a Bachelor of Science in Zoology from Duke University and a Ph.D. in Biological Sciences from Carnegie Mellon University.
