Lieutenant Rachel S. Robeck
LT Rachel Robeck is a Navy Emergency Medicine Physician Assistant (PA), currently practicing at Brooke Army Medical Center (BAMC) – the Department of Defense’s (DoD) highest volume Emergency Department and only Level 1 Trauma Center. LT Robeck is assigned to Naval Medical Research Unit San Antonio (NAMRU-San Antonio) where she serves with the Expeditionary Trauma and Medicine team. She provides procedural clinical skills and operational knowledge to conduct gap-driven combat casualty care aimed at improving survival, operational readiness, and safety of DoD personnel.
LT Robeck is also the first Navy faculty member in the tri-service, Army-Baylor Emergency Medicine PA Fellowship, where she holds the title of Research Director and Assistant Professor at Baylor University. LT Robeck actively mentors current fellows with protocol development, research follow-through, manuscript writing, and dissertation defense. Throughout her time at BAMC and NAMRU-San Antonio, LT Robeck has earned the title of Junior Officer of the Year for Navy Medicine and Research Enterprise and was a finalist for the Col Talcott Allied Health Faculty Award.
LT Robeck graduated at the top of her class from the Army-Baylor Emergency Medicine Fellowship in December of 2021, earning a Doctor of Science in Physician Assistant Studies – Emergency Medicine. During her time as a fellow and doctoral candidate, she was appointed “Chief EMPA,” earned the first-place honor of the Commander’s Research Award for Graduate Allied Health, and was a finalist for the Colonel Woodsen Scott Jones Award.
LT Robeck previously served as the Battalion Physician Assistant for 3rd Battalion, 5th Marines, where she earned her Fleet Marine Force Qualification and deployed with the 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit. Prior to that, LT Robeck served as the Female Wellness Team Lead at the USS Tranquillity clinic, providing women’s health services to the female recruits at Recruit Training Command in Great Lakes, IL.
She graduated summa cum laude with a Master of Medical Science from Mercer University’s PA program in 2015 through the Health Services Collegiate Program and subsequently commissioned as a Naval Officer. LT Robeck completed a Bachelor of Science in Health Promotion from the University of Georgia in 2012.
